AI and BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE for ECONOMIC GROWTH and PUBLIC SECTOR TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

This paper examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Intelligence (BI) can jointly drive economic growth and transform public sector performance. It synthesizes current theory and practice, highlighting mechanisms through which AI and BI strengthen service delivery, policymaking, transparency, and operational efficiency in the public sector while stimulating private-sector innovation and competitiveness. The study identifies sectoral opportunities (health, agriculture, finance, education), implementation challenges (digital divide, governance, ethics, capacity), and policy pathways to accelerate responsible adoption. Drawing on interdisciplinary literature from information systems, public administration, and development studies, the paper provides practical recommendations for policymakers and practitioners to harness AI and BI for inclusive and sustainable development
